Research Associate Professor, Intelligent Systems Division

Tugba Erpek is a research associate professor in the Intelligent Systems Division of the Virginia Tech National Security Institute.

She has been developing deep learning algorithms to improve the performance, situational awareness, and security of next-generation communications systems. Her R&D work covers wireless communications, 5G and beyond, mmWave communications, physical layer security, cognitive radio, dynamic spectrum sharing, machine learning, and network protocol design and implementation.

She received her Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Virginia Tech.
