Advancing the Virginia Tech National Security Institute
The 2025 - 2027 Virginia Tech National Security Instititue (VTNSI) Strategic Plan serves as a critical catalyst for advancing the Institute by fostering a clear, unified direction that aligns with our mission, vision, and values with the evolving needs of the national security landscape. This plan was developed in an inclusive manner with representation from all levels of VTNSI, to ensure diverse perspectives shape our future and drive innovation in our efforts. Through the establishment of focused and actionable goals, the strategic plan provides a roadmap for sustainable growth; strengthens our partnerships with government, industry, and academia; and positions us as a leader in research and workforce development. Ultimately, this initiative equips us to navigate the evolving landscape of national security to address challenges and seize opportunities, solidifying our role in shaping the future of national security.
For the Future
Following release and distribution of the 2025 - 2027 VTNSI Strategic Plan, the focus will shift to implementation and continuous improvement, supported by a new Strategic Management function. This function will oversee strategic initiatives that drive progress toward our organizational goals and objectives. In addition, a comprehensive strategic roadmap will be developed to detail the initiatives, milestones, and metrics essential for successful implementation over the next three years.
