Jamie Cogbill is a retired U.S. Army Colonel who transitioned into a full-time role with the Virginia Tech National Security Institute as Deputy Director for the Defense Civilian Training Corps. As part of his duties, he also serves as Deputy Director of the Rice Center for Leader Development in the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets. Previously, Jamie served as the Professor of Military Science and Military Science Department Head, where he led over 500 Cadets and 30 faculty and staff to commission officers of character for the U.S. Army. He completed over 27 years in the U.S. Army as an intelligence officer, with multiple operational deployments, an assignment to the Pentagon, and duties focused on the acquisition of Army intelligence systems. He is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service (B.S.F.S.) and Public Policy School (M.P.M), and he is a native of Richmond, VA.
