Advisory Board Member | Consultant and Retired Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence

The Honorable Stephanie L. O’Sullivan was elected to the Board of Trustees of The Aerospace Corporation on June 7, 2017. She was named Acting Chair of the Board of Trustees on May 1, 2021, and was named Chair of the board effective June 11, 2021.

After working for both TRW (now Northrop Grumman) and the Office of Naval Intelligence, in 1995 O’Sullivan joined the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), holding a number of management positions in the agency’s Directorate of Science and Technology (DS&T), working to develop and deploy innovative technology in support of intelligence collection and analysis. In 2003, O’Sullivan was promoted to deputy director of DS&T.

In December 2009, O’Sullivan was named Associate Deputy Director of the CIA, where she worked with the Director and Deputy Director in the overall leadership of the agency, with emphasis on day-to-day management of the organization.

In February 2011, O’Sullivan became Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). In this role, O’Sullivan focused on the operations of the ODNI and the Intelligence Community (IC), as well as IC integration initiatives and resource challenges. O’Sullivan held this position until January 2017.

O’Sullivan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Missouri Science and Technology University.
