Vsevolod Ivanov

Assistant Professor, Quantum Systems

Before joining the VT National Security Institute, Vsevolod Ivanov worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory where he performed theoretical simulations of material properties. He also led the effort in creating a database of over 50,000 defects in various materials including silicon, diamond, and silicon carbide, modeling their optical and electronic properties for applications in quantum information sciences. Prior to that, Vsevolod received his PhD in Physics from the University of California Davis, where he worked on computational studies of strongly correlated and topological materials. His main interest is in studying the properties of novel materials for their applications in quantum sciences and he works closely with experimental groups to facilitate real-world implementations of these materials in devices.
