Research Associate, Intelligent Systems Division

Will DeStaffan is a Research Associate with the Intelligent Systems Division (ISD) at Virginia Tech NSI. His areas of expertise include deep learning and advanced sensor systems. As a previous graduate research assistant at ISD, he supported the development and evaluation of artificial intelligence models for maritime radar, in close cooperation with NSWC Dahlgren.

DeStaffan holds a M.S. in Computer Science and Applications (CS&A) from Virginia Tech, and a B.S. in Computer Science from UMBC. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in CS&A at Virginia Tech, focusing on applying artificial intelligence solutions to open U.S. Navy research problems.
