John Gilbert
Research Assistant Professor, Mission Systems Division
Previously, Gilbert was an engineer with the U.S Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Center. He was a graduate research assistant with the Mission Systems Lab at the Hume Center from 2012-2015 where his work focused on the development of advanced CFD techniques aimed at modeling fluid-structure interaction and free surface flow problems.
Gilbert earned his Ph.D in aerospace and ocean engineering from Virginia Tech, and his M.Sc and B.S. in mechanical engineering from Louisiana State University.
