Lakshmi Madhavan Miller has expertise in underwater hydrodynamics, maneuvering and propulsion. Her research area of focus lies in autonomous underwater vehicles and ocean energy. During her time as a graduate research assistant at VT, she worked on the DIVE-LD craft from Anduril and the 690 craft of CMAR, VT. She has a masters in Mechanical Engineering from University of Florida, a Masters in Ocean Engineering from Virginia Tech and a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech. She has industrial experience working for Cummins Inc. on engines ranging from 5L to 95L for aftertreatment system design and development. She has a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, India.
