Jewel Pike has earned a Master's in Information Security from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and a Bachelor's in Business Administration for Accounting and Information Systems/Decision Sciences from California State University, Fullerton. She started working in higher education part-time as a student and transitioned to a full-time staff member after completing her undergrad. 

Prior to joining Virginia Tech, she worked at California State University, Fullerton and the University of Washington. Her experience includes project management for administrative higher education IT systems, project management analysis for PMO administrative tools, and conducting/developing training for enterprise resource planning systems
